About The Firm
We stand for expertise and years of experience within our legal disciplines. Get to know us better.
Joshua Wintters was born and raised here in East Texas. At age 11, his family was involved in a real property litigation that ended (favorably) after a four day jury trial. That case
inspired Joshua to become an integral part, as well as, a force of change within the justice system. That desire continues today with the same intensity as its beginnings over twenty years
Earning his Business Administration degrees from Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler, Joshua received numerous honors and academic accolades. Through determination and a strong work ethic, he was admitted to Baylor Law School at the age of 19 and completed his studies at Baylor by age 21, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree.
Joshua began his legal career in 2000 with Brazos Higher Education Authority and the Law Office of Murray Watson, Jr. and Associates. There, he maintained a dual practice as an Associate General Counsel for the student loan servicing company and as a general civil lawyer, practicing before the courts of central Texas. The time spent with Brazos and the Watson firm, allowed for significant trial experience and exposure to virtually every area of Texas law. This experience aided Joshua in establishing a successful private practice upon his return to East Texas in 2001. While in private practice, Joshua handled primarily criminal and family law matters and successfully tried an extensive number of cases to juries and Judges across East Texas.
At this point, Joshua focuses his practice in the area of Criminal Defense. With nearly a decade of experience in evaluating, challenging, and trying criminal cases, he is able to be an effective and efficient advocate for his clients facing a wide variety of charges and issues.
Joshua is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas as well as the Eastern and Western Federal District courts in Texas. He practices before Courts throughout East Texas. He is an active member of a number of charitable and non-profit organizations, serving causes both in and outside of the legal field.
Although the office is centrally located in Tyler, Joshua practices throughout East Texas and, as of November 2006, Joshua and his wife Ashley have established a home in rural Van Zandt County. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors and spending as much time as possible with his wife and two children.
